Retirement Announcement: David Shaw

We would like to share an update regarding David Shaw's role with WSC Group. Firstly, David has recovered well from the surgery he had earlier this year. However following this period of leave, David has made the decision to retire from his day-to-day role with WSC Group.

While stepping back from work here, David will continue to contribute to the profession in an advisory capacity. He will remain involved on the boards of several accounting and financial planning firms across the broader Count Limited (ASX:CUP) network, where he will continue to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation; something he has been deeply passionate about throughout his career.

David founded WSC Group with a clear vision: to help real people make money, grounded in strong technical expertise, trusted relationships, and a commitment to doing the right thing for clients. Over many years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping not only this firm and our client relationships, but also the people within it. His mentorship, guidance and leadership have helped build a highly capable and experienced team that continues to uphold these values every day.

I had the privilege of starting my journey with David 21 years ago this month, and I still recall my first interview in our Caringbah office as clearly as if it were yesterday. It has been a journey through many seasons, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities he has provided, not just to me, but to so many, and for the lessons he has shared along the way. The time he invested in teaching others and passing on his experience is a rare and generous gift, one that has had a lasting impact on my professional life.
